"GREEN IN DARK"

Each model in the "Swatch Chrono Black Collection" features a matte stainless steel case with PVD black coating, paired with a black dial incorporating vibrant color contrasts and highlights. As the name suggests, all models are unified in black, from the stainless steel case to the textured silicone strap, dial, and bezel.

Five models showcase striking colorways: "GREEN IN DARK" uses light blue and green effectively for a masculine strength with an elegant touch; "PURPLE IN DARK" features a striking contrast of purple and orange; "BLUE IN DARK" uses blue and light pink to make the black pop; "PEACH IN DARK" offers a fashionable contrast of peach and powder blue; and "MINT IN DARK" presents an exotic atmosphere with mint and deep red highlights against the jet black.

The vibrant colors used on the chronograph dials and hands create a clever and bold combination, effectively making the entire watch stand out against the black backdrop. These are powerful, latest models within Swatch's elegant "Irony THE Chrono" series.

BRAND HISTORY
The Swiss watch industry faced its greatest crisis, the "Quartz Shock," in the wake of the 1969 launch of quartz watches, which severely impacted long-established mechanical watch manufacturers.

Amidst this turmoil, in 1983, a revolutionary concept in watchmaking emerged, breathing new life into the declining Swiss watch industry. It was a watch for the new age, featuring a quartz movement housed in a plastic case, a departure from tradition. Nicolas G. Hayek, who led the charge at the time, named the brand "Swatch," emphasizing its pure Swiss origins while subverting existing conventions.

Beyond the innovative materials, a novel construction where the case served as the movement's baseplate (a feature exclusive to the "Originals" line) was developed. This reduction in parts led to significant cost savings. By balancing high functionality with affordability, Swatch rapidly conquered the global market.

However, the novelty of these materials and construction methods remained an behind-the-scenes development story. The true appeal of Swatch lies in its dizzying array of design variations, unbound by form or color. The brand steadily expanded its lineup with "POP Swatch" in 1986, "Chrono" in 1990, and "Automatic" in 1991, surpassing 100 million units produced in the same year. Under the keywords "high design," "high quality," and "reasonable price," it grew into a global brand.

Since then, Swatch has continued to create unique collections, such as the "Skin," the world's thinnest plastic watch, and "Swatch Beat," which introduced the new concept of "Internet Time." In the 1990s, its popularity soared to the point of commanding premiums, creating numerous collectors worldwide. Furthermore, the establishment of the "Swatch Group," centered around the Swatch brand, has led to its growth into a major force shaping the watch industry today.
