RICHARD MILLE

Accelerating Creation

New Ambassador Models Arrive

The ultra-distinctive brand, Richard Mille, pursues “the pinnacle of technology, artistry, and watchmaking heritage” with the concept of “F1 in watchmaking.” This year, 2013, they have welcomed new ambassadors and are sequentially releasing collaboration models.

Beyond its technical sophistication that captivates watch enthusiasts, Richard Mille has become even more popular among global celebrities as a “must-have timepiece” due to its buzz and rarity. With the success of its ambassadors, the brand is also gaining attention as a lucky charm item. While a limited edition model with a sapphire crystal case, priced at 147 million yen per piece and produced in a run of only five worldwide, garnered significant attention in 2012, the momentum of its original creations shows no signs of slowing down this year.

In 2013, in addition to the latest collaboration model with brand ambassador and tennis player Rafael Nadal, new collaborations emerged with celebrities who have recently become ambassadors, including Roberto Mancini, the manager of Manchester City who conquered the English Premier League in 2012; Jean Todt, former Ferrari F1 team manager and former Ferrari CEO, now President of the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile); and Jamaican track and field superstar Yohan Blake.

Fans will also not want to miss the models featuring sapphire crystal not only for the case but also for the baseplate, as well as the Japan-limited model with an ultra-lightweight carbon nanotube case.

A driver's watch equipped with a mechanical G-sensor

This is one of two limited edition models born from the collaboration between Jean Todt, a motorsports icon who conquered the world as a rally co-driver (navigator), a legendary director of the Peugeot rally team and F1 Scuderia Ferrari team, former Ferrari CEO, and now President of the FIA, and Richard Mille, a passionate car enthusiast from the watch industry. It is a specialtourbillonmodel for drivers, featuring a mechanical G-sensor at 12 o'clock that displays the G-force (acceleration) experienced by the driver during deceleration. The new Nadal model weighs just 19 grams

Rafael Nadal continues to dominate the men's professional tennis world, with four consecutive French Open titles from 2005 to 2008, a career Grand Slam in 2010, and a record seventh French Open title in 2012.
