No communication environment like Wi-Fi or Bluetooth is required for setting.
The "Conquest V.H.P." was launched in January of this year. The V.H.P. caliber is equipped with innovative features such as a GPD (Gear Position Detection) system that automatically corrects the hands when magnetic fields or shocks are detected, and a perpetual calendar, all with an impressive accuracy of ±5 seconds per year.
In addition to the existing three-hand and chronograph models, the newly announced "Conquest V.H.P." GMT model employs a light-based time zone management system called flash setting. Time differences are adjusted not by the crown, but via a smartphone and a dedicated app.
This flash setting requires no communication environment such as Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Time zone information from each time zone in the app is transferred via light pulses using the smartphone's flash function and received by a sensor located at the 12 o'clock index on the watch. A swap function is also included, allowing the two time zones to be exchanged with a simple push of the crown.
With its sporty yet elegant design and the innovative flash setting, the "Conquest V.H.P." GMT model is sure to appeal not only to jet setters but also to gadget enthusiasts.
