A Bangle Beloved by Jackie, Evoking Timeless Style
Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, wife of John F. Kennedy, was a global style icon admired for her glamorous aura and chic fashion sense. Her elegance and intelligence made her a role model for millions of women, and even today, decades later, she remains a celebrated international fashion leader.
Jackie's first encounter with Van Cleef & Arpels was in 1953, when John F. Kennedy presented her with a diamond and emerald ring as an engagement gift. Throughout her life, Jackie cherished numerous Van Cleef & Arpels pieces, skillfully coordinating them with her unique personal style.
To celebrate the opening of the Van Cleef & Arpels Ginza Mitsukoshi store, the maison is recreating and exhibiting a magnificent bangle that Jackie wore on her wrist in 1977 when welcoming heavyweight world champion Muhammad Ali. This piece, particularly favored by Jackie, is inspired by ancient Etruscan adornments and features a bold design with raised motifs on yellow gold, achieved through hammer-forming techniques.
The newly opened Ginza Mitsukoshi store showcases these special pieces alongside the popular Alhambra collection, the new Perlée new collection, and a wide selection of bridal jewelry. We invite you to visit and experience it for yourself.
