The 2019 Summer Collection features accessories utilizing the techniques of Gifu Prefecture's traditional craft, Mino ware. Transforming 'earth,' a material often considered rustic, into something refined, these items embody beautiful people's unique philosophy.

Though each of these accessories is handcrafted by artisans, it was a novel experience for the makers as well. Through trial and error, addressing imperfections like dents, cracks, and bends, these items were finally completed as pieces of dedication.





The glaze, applied to cover the surface during ceramic firing, creates the bumpy texture, subtle grain, and glossy or matte finish. The design also highlights the contrast with the 'hama'—the unglazed part of the original clay—a characteristic feature of ceramics.

The combination of the earth's natural, simple texture and metal results in a finish that feels both modern and imbued with ceramic craftsmanship.

The inherent randomness, where no two pieces are exactly alike, is another fascinating aspect of these Mino ware accessories.
