Limited Edition "the earth" Ring to be Sold at GINZA FASHION WEEK

GINZA FASHION WEEK, a collaboration between Ginza's two major department stores, Matsuya and Mitsukoshi, will be held from Wednesday, October 19th to Tuesday, October 25th. Ginza's two major department stores, Matsuya and Mitsukoshi, have joined forces to present an event showcasing Japan's world-renowned design, technology, and creators, under the theme "JAPAN POWER ~The Resilience of the Japanese Spirit~ Rekindling Japanese Values from Ginza – Energizing Ginza and Japan!" Among the highly anticipated brands featured is "himie," which will offer the limited edition ring "the earth."

"himie" is a brand by Hiromichi Shimokawa, who crafts delicate pieces with the aim of creating jewelry that will endure for a hundred years, like an antique. Following the events of 3.11, Shimokawa poured his complex emotions, reflections, and gratitude for the warm support received from people around the world into "the earth," a wide silver ring adorned with motifs of various countries, including Japan.

All sales revenue and profits from "the earth" will be donated to...Ryuichi Sakamotothe disaster relief project "LIFE311," a collaboration between the forest conservation organization "more trees," headed by Ryuichi Sakamoto, and Sumita Town in Iwate Prefecture. The funds will be used for the construction of wooden temporary housing built in Sumita Town.

"I want people to feel a sense of 'weight' in various meanings through this ring," says Shimokawa, whose sentiments are encapsulated in "the earth." This ring serves not only as a reminder of 3.11 but also as a symbol of hope for recovery.
