To commemorate the 60th anniversary of Grand Seiko's birth, a limited collection of four models, all featuring the "Grand Seiko Blue" dial that symbolizes the brand, will be released sequentially in Japan and overseas from February to April 2020.

Grand Seiko, a leading Japanese watch brand, was born in 1960 from the culmination of contemporary technology and craftsmanship. Striving to create the world's finest timepieces, the brand has built its history through relentless progress in pursuing and achieving the essence of a watch—accuracy, beauty, and legibility—at the highest level. In 2020, it marks its 60th anniversary. Ushering in this anniversary year is a limited collection of four models, each equipped with the "Grand Seiko Blue" dial that symbolizes the brand.

The "Heritage Collection Mechanical Hi-Beat 36000" features a mechanical Hi-Beat movement that achieves highly stable, high precision over extended periods through its high-frequency vibration of 36,000 vibrations per hour (10 beats per second). The case is a modern reinterpretation of "Grammar of Design," the design philosophy originating from the "44GS" released in 1967, which defines a "brilliantly sparkling watch." Its unique design, primarily composed of polished, distortion-free flat surfaces, creates myriad expressions born from the interplay of light and shadow. The dial is adorned with a golden GS logo and a sunray pattern, while the vibrant red second hand embodies the brand's passion for craftsmanship.

The "Elegance Collection Ladies Mechanical Model" employs the mechanical caliber "9S27," boasting a power reserve of approximately 50 hours befitting the Grand Seiko name, and high precision with an average daily rate of +8 to -3 seconds, which is among the world's best for its size. Its compact movement, at only 4.49 mm thick, fits elegantly on the wrists of women who seek authentic mechanical timepieces. The Grand Seiko blue mother-of-pearl dial is embellished with 45 sparkling diamonds around the edge and 11 diamonds at the index markers, lending it a sophisticated allure suitable not only for a refined business watch but also for evening events.

The "Heritage Collection Quartz Model" is equipped with the new quartz caliber "9F85," which includes a function for independently adjusting the hour hand, and has been enhanced from the standard annual accuracy of ±10 seconds to a special precision of ±5 seconds per year. As proof of this, a gold-colored five-pointed star shines at the 6 o'clock position, and the dial features a stamped pattern inspired by "2020," the anniversary year, creating a special design unique to this commemorative model.

The "Sport Collection Quartz Model" also features the new quartz caliber "9F85," the same as the "Heritage Collection Quartz Model." By moving the hour hand independently without stopping the watch, time differences can be adjusted without compromising the high accuracy of the quartz watch. As a specification unique to this limited edition, the bezel is made of "Grand Seiko Blue" ceramic, harmonizing with the dial. With 20 bar water resistance and high magnetic resistance of 16,000 A/m, it is a watch that performs well even in active situations.

The case backs of these four models are engraved with a lion emblem, the inscription LIMITED EDITION, and the serial number. They will be available exclusively at Seiko Flagship Salons, Grand Seiko Boutiques, Grand Seiko Salons, and Master Shops. The two quartz models will also be handled at Grand Seiko Shops.
