The designers speak about their captivating creations
On June 18th, a press conference and party were held at the Mori Arts Center Gallery in Roppongi to celebrate the launch of the "Forevermark Precious Collection." Actresses Mitsuko Mori, and models Anne and Ai Tominaga graced the event. Anne and Ai, adorned in the Forevermark Precious Collection, shared their personal sentiments about diamonds.
The venue was also adorned with various displays, including rough diamonds, artisans' tools, and exhibits detailing the diamond jewelry creation process. Guests were able to immerse themselves fully in the world of diamonds and the unique allure of Forevermark.
Designers also gathered for the press conference. Alan Chan, who symbolically expressed numbers from around the world; Shaun Leane, who crafted the beauty of a snowy landscape into a brooch; Alek Wek, who unveiled a delicate rose necklace; and Satomi Yamamoto, inspired by armor, were present to share their memories of the creation process. Here, we introduce a selection of their stories.
"Time is Precious" by Alan Chan
Alan Chan (Designer)
“This piece, named ‘Time is Precious,’ can be worn as both a belt and a necklace. Inspired by a watch face, I incorporated numbers in various languages in a modern, pop-art style. This was actually my first jewelry creation, and I gained many unexpected experiences through making jewelry. I engaged in numerous discussions with diamantaires to bring my vision to life. The collaboration with professional diamantaires made my work even more ‘precious.’”
"Rose Waterfalls" by Alek Wek
Alek Wek (Supermodel)
“My jewelry can be worn close to the heart and symbolizes all the elements of nature and the earth. Diamonds are a gift from the earth, one of the most ‘precious’ things created by nature. Forevermark, in particular, holds a special place for me. Not only for its superior quality, but also for its active contributions to diamond-producing countries and the lives of the people who live there. I resonate with their high ethical standards.”
"White Light" by Shaun Leane
Shaun Leane (Jewelry Designer)
“This piece was inspired by the first snow of winter, which purifies everything. It captures the human form enveloped in the silence brought by a pure white world. Snowflakes resting on leaves emit an otherworldly pure light, condensing the essence of precious things like nature and purity in this world. I believe only the brilliance of diamonds can match the radiant wonders of nature. And excellent design is only completed with the skill of artisans and high-quality materials. Forevermark Diamonds promised me the highest quality.”
