A Watch Is Part of Me
He arrived in a sporty, adult vintage style, featuring an aged dark brown bomber jacket, blue jeans, and a blue-gray scarf at his neck.Lamborghini's Christmas Cafe Opens in Minami Aoyama, Eginardo Bertoli.
On his wrist gleamed a timepiece from a prestigious Swiss maison,Jaeger-LeCoultre's "Reverso Duo"a representative masterpiece from the company. This iconic watch features a rectangular case with a double-sided dial, powered by a single mechanical movement, allowing it to display two different times simultaneously.
"The front dial shows Japan time, and the back dial displays the time in my home country, Italy, where Lamborghini's headquarters are located. This watch is perfect for my business. It's exclusive, elegant, sophisticated, and surprisingly not prohibitively expensive, which is wonderful. However, I do find having to wind it manually a bit of a personal drawback (laughs)."
Bertoli favors classic watch designs and currently owns four timepieces, which he rotates according to the season and occasion. Among them, his favorites are this "Reverso Duo" andRolex's "Divers Submariner"Both are super-classic models that any watch enthusiast would praise.
"I like watches with a timeless appeal that I can wear forever. Whether they're trendy right now doesn't matter. A watch becomes a part of me. When I put on a good watch in the morning, I feel a sense of joy, as if I'm being complimented. In winter, I always wear this "Reverso Duo." And for Japan's hot summers, I rely on my Rolex, which I can wear without worry on its metal bracelet. I also find Jaeger-LeCoultre's round watch collection, the "Master," to be very appealing with its classic and elegant design."
Bertoli has loved watches since before he was assigned to Japan, and he has a considerable collection in his native Italy.
"I became fond of neo-classic models from the 1960s and 70s, so I frequented vintage markets and managed to acquire当時 (at the time) new, unsold pieces from closing watch shops at reasonable prices. It was during my time working in China that I came to deeply appreciate the allure of high-end watches."
It was through these experiences that he arrived at his ultimate timepiece, the "Reverso Duo."
"Actually, I'm currently waiting for a replacement strap to be ready. I ordered a light gray leather strap because I think it will suit this model beautifully. I'm really looking forward to it."
