The new Seiko Prospex solar watch syncs with your smartphone via Bluetooth.
SEIKO is releasing three new models in its Prospex line of professional sports watches, including a limited-edition version of the new Land Tracer solar watch.
The Land Tracer was developed with the concept of a new communication tool that allows users to fully enjoy outdoor activities and share those experiences.
With SEIKO's proprietary "Field Log" function, users can record their activity trails on a dedicated smartphone app and display these trails overlaid on Google Maps in 3D (or 2D).
This makes it easy to look back on the excitement and memories of outdoor activities and share them on social media.
The watch also features the ability to create log points by pressing a button at arbitrary locations, such as scenic viewpoints or route junctions, and to easily attach photos taken during Field Log recording directly to a timeline.
Additionally, it displays the current weather forecast (weather, precipitation, probability of precipitation, temperature, wind direction/speed, humidity), as well as sunrise/sunset times, moon phase, and tide information.
Equipped with a "Field Sensor" comprising three sensors for barometric pressure, temperature, and compass direction, its diverse functions, designed with outdoor scenes in mind, will also prove useful in daily life.
The products are scheduled to go on sale nationwide at watch retailers, major electronics stores, and sports shops from Friday, June 9th.
