A fun event for parents and children to learn about immunity: "Karada Wars" will be held for a limited time starting November 26 (Wednesday).

Kirin Holdings Company, Limited (President and COO Kenji Minamikata, hereinafter Kirin) will host "Karada Wars," an experiential event where families can learn about the mechanisms of immunity, at the National Museum of Nature and Science from Wednesday, November 26, 2025, to Sunday, January 25, 2026. Through games and exhibits, this event allows participants to learn about the functions of immunity by experiencing them firsthand.

In recent years, various infectious diseases, including influenza and COVID-19, have been prevalent, necessitating sustained measures throughout the year. This year, influenza began its epidemic earlier than usual*, and last year, the number of infections among young people (0-19 years old) reached an all-time high**. Given this situation, further measures against infectious diseases are required in Japan, and the importance of immunity awareness is increasing, especially in preparation for the epidemic season from December to February.

Our group has been researching "immunity" for over 40 years, leveraging the fermentation and biotechnology expertise cultivated through our founding beer business. Among these efforts, the discovery and research of Kirin's proprietary ingredient, "L. lactis Plasma," have been highly acclaimed, earning numerous awards***. With the aim of widely disseminating the mechanisms of immunity that we have researched and increasing public understanding and interest, we are holding the "Karada Wars" experiential event for families at the National Museum of Nature and Science.

About "Karada Wars"
This event allows participants to learn about the functions of immunity by experiencing them firsthand through exhibits and interactive games. The theme is the "battle" of immunity unfolding within the body, presented as a conflict between the "Immune Cell Army" and the "Virus Alliance Army."
Exhibition Booths
Participants are divided into two teams, the "Immune Cell Army" and the "Virus Alliance Army." Through models and panels, they visually learn about the mechanisms of immunity and viruses, making the knowledge easily understandable.

Immune Cell Army Area
This area introduces the roles and characteristics of each immune cell through explanatory panels. It also includes content on lifestyle habits and nutrients necessary for maintaining immune function, allowing participants to understand concrete measures for daily life and experientially grasp how to maintain and enhance their immune functions.

Virus Alliance Army Area
This area introduces the origins and characteristics of viruses through explanatory panels. It also discusses the tendencies of individuals susceptible to infection and the importance of prevention, deepening understanding of viruses. Participants can systematically learn the knowledge necessary to reduce infection risk.

Interactive Game Booths
Through three interactive games, families can learn about the mechanisms of immunity and the characteristics of viruses. Each game is designed to provide a different perspective on the importance of immunity, allowing for a fun and engaging learning experience.
1. "Body Battle Rhythm Game (Immune Cell Army vs. Virus Alliance Army)"
A rhythm game where players press buttons in time with the music.
For the Immune Cell Army, points are awarded for correctly pressing buttons when lifestyle habits and nutrients necessary for immunity are displayed on screen.
For the Virus Alliance Army, points are earned by pressing buttons when characteristics of humans susceptible to infection are displayed.
This setup allows players to enjoy and understand the offensive and defensive interactions between "immunity" and "viruses" through a competitive scoring system.
2. "Welcome Back! Karada Wars (Maze Game)"
A game where players solve maze puzzles to find a hidden treasure.
By solving the puzzles, players deepen their understanding of the mechanisms of immunity and Kirin's lactic acid bacteria research.
3. "Immunity Support Ball Game"
A ball-tossing game where the Immune Cell Army wins if all viruses displayed on the screen are eliminated.
Players can activate the immune cells by hitting a ball at the "command center" of the immune cell army, which is key to victory.
This game allows players to enjoy and understand the mechanisms that support the maintenance of immune function.
