Experience the allure of Kyoto in autumn, ablaze with vibrant fall colors. The "Let's Go, Kyoto." 2022 Autumn Campaign runs from Saturday, October 1st to Sunday, December 11th!
Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central) is launching its "Let's Go, Kyoto." autumn campaign from Saturday, October 1st, 2022. After a summer of record-breaking heatwaves, September has brought a gradual sense of autumn. In anticipation of Kyoto's peak season, JR Central is running various promotions to allow visitors to fully experience Kyoto's unique autumn charm, including its vibrant fall foliage. The city and surrounding mountains will be enveloped in a rich tapestry of colors—reds, oranges, and greens—offering a renewed appreciation for the beauty of Kyoto in autumn.
To coincide with this campaign, a series of events are being held to allow visitors to savor Kyoto's autumn. These include special viewings where you can leisurely enjoy the autumn leaves and illuminations, the popular "Hikari no Kyoto" (Kyoto of Light) event featuring bamboo lanterns, and art experiences at temples.
Furthermore, in the Takao area, a filming location for the TV commercial and a renowned spot for autumn colors, a participatory event called "Mystery Solving x Tourist Guide: Choju-giga and Traces of Kyoto" will be held, offering a chance to engage with Kyoto's culture and history. This event invites people of all ages to experience the splendor of Kyoto in autumn.
In conjunction with this campaign, the "Let's Go, Kyoto." 2022 autumn TV commercial began airing on Saturday, October 1st, 2022. The commercial captures the scenery of Jingoji, Kosanji, and Saiinji temples in the Takao area, set against a backdrop of spectacularly colorful autumn leaves, conveying the magnificence of Kyoto's foliage, a tradition spanning 1200 years. Witnessing the early-changing autumn leaves in Takao, one of Kyoto's prime spots, builds anticipation for the autumn Kyoto journey.
