JFR Card Co., Ltd., which issues the Daimaru Matsuzakaya Card, will host an exclusive experience on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Sasaya Iori Bettei in Kyoto's Shimogyo Ward. Participants will learn about Japanese culture and the spirit of hospitality through a special lecture by Miyuki Tamaru, the 10th proprietress.
◼️ Event Overview
Sasaya Iori, a venerable wagashi shop in Kyoto with over 300 years of history, invites you to a special event at its "Sasaya Iori Bettei" annex. Here, under the guidance of Miyuki Tamaru, the 10th proprietress, you will delve into the essence of Japanese culture and hospitality. Following the lecture, in Sasaya Iori's tea room, "Sasurakuan," you will have the rare opportunity to learn about the history and proper enjoyment of wagashi while savoring matcha prepared by the proprietress herself, alongside seasonal sweets. A special afternoon tea menu, crafted with Sasaya Iori's signature dedication, will be served exclusively for the day's attendees. As a special gift, each participant will receive a box of "ohagi" – a delightful spoonful of sweet rice cake – available only at Sasaya Iori Bettei.
