Washington D.C.'s brilliant rapper lands in Tokyo! GoldLink's first-ever performance in Japan is confirmed.
On Friday, June 16th, "JAPAN Celebrates 1st GoldLink in TOKYO" will be held at SOUND MUSEUM VISION in Shibuya.
GoldLink made a brilliant debut in 2014 with his mixtape "The God Complex," catching the eye of the legendary Rick Rubin, who mentored him and led to collaborations with Kaytranada, Anderson .Paak, and Sango.
His bouncy, free-flowing rap, sometimes incorporating singing, and his ability to master even complex beats garnered attention, leading to his ranking on XXL's Freshman list in 2015 alongside Fetty Wap, Vince Staples, Dej Loaf, and K Camp.
He signed with the prestigious American label RCA Records, home to artists like D’Angelo, Alicia Keys, R. Kelly, Usher, A$AP Mob, G-Eazy, and Bryson Tiller.
His release "And After That We Didn’t Talk," featuring Anderson .Paak and MASEGO and produced in partnership with the DJ collective Soulection, received worldwide acclaim, with a REMIX ALBUM featuring POMO, Mr. Carmack, and Falcons.
He seamlessly transitions from rapping over cutting-edge dance music to delivering dramatic boom-bap infused with classical phrases, showcasing a unique sense of balance.
Why not experience firsthand his distinctive beat selection and acrobatic flow that set him apart from other rappers?
