Behind the Scenes of Paris Fashion Week: Taro Mizutani's "Undercover" Photobook Released
From BOOKMARC, the bookstore curated by the New York-based fashion brand Marc Jacobs, comes the second installment of Taro Mizutani's UNDERCOVER photobook series, "Chaos / Balance."
Taro Mizutani is a photographer born in Tokyo in 1975.
After graduating from the Department of Photography at the College of Art and Design, Tokyo Polytechnic University, he began his career as a photographer and is now active primarily in fashion magazines, fashion brand advertising, and artist portraits.
This work marks the second series in nine years, following "the Shepherd" in 2008, a collection of images documenting and editing the behind-the-scenes of UNDERCOVER's Paris collection shows.
Mizutani accompanied the brand for five seasons, from 2013-14 A/W to 2015-16 A/W, capturing the process and backstage scenes as designer Jun Takahashi and the show's production team prepared for their Paris shows.
From an extensive collection of photographs capturing scenes rarely seen, approximately 150 works have been curated and compiled into this precious volume.
