Multiple venues across Shibuya host simultaneous events. TOKYO DANCE MUSIC EVENT
From Thursday, November 30th to Saturday, December 2nd, the international conference and event "TOKYO DANCE MUSIC EVENT," focusing on dance music, will be held across multiple venues centered around Shibuya Hikarie.
"TDME" is comprised of three program types: "CONFERENCE," featuring domestic and international specialists in the music business discussing dance music that spans the globe beyond borders and languages; "SESSION," workshops on music production by global labels and renowned musicians; and "LIVE," musical performances by leading artists in the dance music scene.
Through audience discussion and experience, it serves as an international conference and event that allows for a deeper understanding of the culture.
Towards 2020, when Tokyo will host the Olympic and Paralympic Games and Japan will be the focus of global attention,
by disseminating Japan's unique dance music culture from Tokyo to the world, we aim to revitalize the dance music market and related businesses, fostering the penetration, maturation, and further development of dance music culture.
Held in December 2016, "TDME" was the first international dance music conference held in Japan, featuring speakers from various domestic and international music labels, as well as founders and representatives of large-scale festivals and events.
Furthermore, attendees included individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, such as business professionals involved in music and students aspiring to enter the music industry, with approximately 40 companies participating. It became an event that would go down in the history of Japan's dance music scene, and anticipation is high for its second iteration this year.
