From November 30th (Thursday) to December 2nd (Saturday), the "TOKYO DANCE MUSIC EVENT (TDME)" will take place across multiple venues centered around Shibuya Hikarie. This international conference and event focuses on dance music.
TDME aims to broadcast Japan's unique dance music culture to the world from Tokyo. It is comprised of three main parts: "Conference," "Sessions" (music production), and "Live" (music performance).
Following the initial announcement of numerous world-renowned creators taking the stage, new conference speakers and the highly anticipated session programs have now been revealed.
Confirmed speakers include Anish Sood, one of India's most breakthrough DJs in the dance music scene; Cherie Hu, a globally respected journalist contributing to Forbes magazine on media and entertainment; and Lin Jun, CEO of the innovative music media company Spincoaster, among other artists and journalists active worldwide.
For the "Sessions," which features workshops and studio sessions for music creators with participation from prominent artists, Ableton Meetup Tokyo will be held again this year.
Performers include "Open Reel Ensemble," a group/project consisting of Ei Wada, Yu Yoshida, and Tadashi Yoshida, who play multiple vintage open-reel tape recorders as musical instruments.
Their unique sound and musicality, created by performing while directly manipulating reels and tapes, and assembling ensembles with sounds and voices recorded on tape in real-time, are highly acclaimed. They have also received high praise for their live performances, including composing music for ISSEY MIYAKE's Paris Collection for three consecutive seasons. Their talent has been showcased internationally at events like SONAR (Barcelona, Spain) and ARS ELECTRONICA (Linz, Austria).
