LA-Based Eyewear Brand "DITA" Opens First Flagship Store in Japan on Aoyama Kotto-dori
LA-based eyewear brand "DITA" will open its first flagship store in Japan on Aoyama's Kotto-dori on Saturday, May 27th.
Exploring "Warm Minimalism" Through the Store Experience
The design was handled by Mandi Rafaty and Mehdi Rafaty of Tag Front, a Los Angeles-based architectural firm.
Under the concept of "warm minimalism," a clean and radiant beauty fills the store.
The south-facing storefront features large floor-to-ceiling windows, with Italian stone and plated aluminum adding an elegant touch.
Natural light streams in, illuminating the brass fixtures and inviting passersby into a moment of quiet tranquility, despite the bustling Kotto-dori street.
Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a ceiling adorned with grooves, a tribute to refined Japanese interior design, leading to walls lined with shelves displaying DITA's latest eyewear collections.
The displays also feature eyewear from Thom Browne, as well as the collection from Christian Roth, a pioneer in fashion eyewear acquired by the DITA Group in 2016.
At the in-store "DITA Lab," opticians will custom-fit sunglass frames and adjust prescription lenses for each individual.
Also noteworthy are the uniforms, designed by Caitlin Boelke with an asymmetrical aesthetic reminiscent of 1990s Belgian deconstructionism.
Why not discover your own cherished piece in a space that embodies DITA's most innovative retail concept to date?
