B&B Italia has unveiled its Outdoor Collection 2018.
This year's Outdoor Collection features designs by the London-based design studio Doshi Levien, the British design duo Barber & Osgerby, and Naoto Fukasawa, a leading Japanese product designer.
The Outdoor Collection, launched annually since 2007, comprises distinctive products crafted from materials suitable for outdoor use and employing superior technical expertise. These pieces add vibrancy to terraces and balconies, creating unparalleled outdoor spaces.
The quality and comfort, born from a pursuit of beautiful, comfortable outdoor living that allows for complete freedom, are evident, making its popularity entirely understandable.
The Outdoor Collection embraces the concept of 'en plain air' (outdoor living), suggesting that its pieces are not only for outdoor use but can also be enjoyed indoors, reminding us of the importance of outdoor spaces.
This year's new additions include "Bay" by Doshi Levien, their first foray into outdoor products, and "Fiore" by Naoto Fukasawa. Additionally, Barber & Osgerby present "Tobi-ishi Outdoor," an outdoor iteration of their Tobi-ishi, and Doshi Levien introduce "Tabour Outdoor."
Furthermore, new specifications are available for "Mirto Outdoor" designed by Antonio Citterio, and new rugs such as "Twist" and "Kaleidos" have also been released, making this year's Outdoor Collection one to watch.

No. 1: Doshi Levien | BAY
Bay is a sculptural, monolithic collection featuring high-back and low-back armchairs.
The enveloping backrest, constructed from a double weave of polypropylene fiber, creates internal air pockets, lending a visually light appearance.
The frame incorporates a solid-looking seat and accompanying soft cushions, enhancing comfort.
Color combinations offer a choice of sophisticated Tortora and Anthracite for the woven sections, with the option to select elegant block colors and patterns for the back cushions, allowing for personalized design combinations.
No. 2: Naoto Fukasawa | FIORE (Photo Left)
Fiore is a new series of outdoor tables available in white and greige cement finishes.
They come in round and square tabletop shapes with two height options.
"Many years ago, I named a chair I designed 'Papilio' because its silhouette reminded me of a butterfly."
"Now, for my latest project, I envisioned Fiore, which means 'flower' in Italian, as a place where the Papilio chairs, like butterflies, would gather around the flowers."
"This combination creates a delightful setting for outdoor coffee or light meals," says Naoto Fukasawa.
No. 3: Doshi Levien | TABOUR OUTDOOR (Photo Right)
Tabour is a collection of indoor ottomans first introduced in 2016.
The new outdoor version features an organic, oblong and square shape reminiscent of ancient single-celled marine organisms, utilizing high-tech materials.
The padded frame is tension-clad with fabric, featuring a large button-like tray at the center. The tray finish can be selected from white, tortora, or anthracite lacquer.
No. 4: TOBI-ISHI OUTDOOR | Barber & Osgerby
The iconic Tobi-ishi table draws its inspiration from the East, as its name suggests,
inspired by the decorative stones found in traditional Japanese gardens. This new low cement version offers a more sculptural and tactile finish, available in two options: grey and anthracite.
