The festival of technology art, "MTA 2018," where technologies and ideas that create the future converge, will be held.
MEDIA AMBITION TOKYO (MAT), a real showcase for the experimental implementation of cutting-edge technoculture in urban settings, will be held for a limited time from Friday, February 9th to Sunday, February 25th.
This marks the sixth iteration of the event.
Centered in Roppongi, with events spanning Harajuku, Daikanyama, Ginza, Iidabashi, Suidobashi, Odaiba, and Marunouchi, the festival will bring together cutting-edge art, visuals, music, performances, and talks across various Tokyo locations.
Through the participation of innovators, companies, and events from diverse fields, both domestic and international, a rich tapestry of programs organically proliferates, expands, and connects throughout the city. MAT continues to grow as an encompassing entity for these activities.
This year, alongside artists who have led the media art scene, such as Rhizomatiks, known for its fusion of advanced technology and design, and teamLab, which creates works that transcend the boundaries of art and entertainment, the festival will feature compelling new works. These include Yoichi Ochiai, who advocates for digital nature through both art and research; nor (Noah), an artist whose work defies conventional expression with backgrounds in architecture and music; and Yosuke Tani, representing the millennial generation.
At a time when urban systems are undergoing profound change, this festival of technology art presents the potential of technologies that create the future, from Tokyo to the world.
Why not experience it for yourself?
