Conventional earphones had a problem where sound from the L channel could only be heard by the left ear and sound from the R channel only by the right ear, leading to a different perception of sound compared to an environment without earphones. To solve this problem, the patented "WARP System" (Wide Area ReProduction - Patent No. 6730384) adjusts the bandwidth, level, and other factors of the signals reaching each earphone and mixes them with the opposite earphone. Normally, the air behind the diaphragm acts like a spring that assists the diaphragm's vibration, but in "SkIS," the movement of air behind the diaphragm is restricted in the 6kHz frequency range. This allows for the suppression of only the 6kHz frequency range without affecting other frequency ranges.
