While maintaining high suction power, it now allows users to adjust the mopping water volume via a smartphone app, enabling customized settings for water flow and suction power for each room. Furthermore, it triples the mopping area achievable in a single run compared to previous models, offering enhanced versatility while keeping the price down on this latest iteration.

During the initial cleaning, it accurately maps the room layout using an LDS laser sensor and automatically saves it to the smartphone app. Once mapping is complete, detailed settings become available, such as specifying cleaning locations, setting timers, and adjusting suction power and mopping water volume for individual rooms.

The laser sensor functions accurately even in darkness, so the robot won't get lost when operating at night. Additionally, the Roborock S5 Max calculates the most efficient cleaning path for each room. It begins by cleaning the perimeter of all rooms while recognizing the long edges, reducing unnecessary back-and-forth travel for quicker cleaning.
