Japan's First Segway Theme Park, "SEGWAY BASE," Opens in Ebina!
World's Largest! Opens for a Limited Time Starting March 21, 2018 (Wednesday/Holiday)
Japan's first and the world's largest mobility robot theme park, "SEGWAY BASE," opens in Ebina for a limited one-year period starting March 21 (Wednesday/Holiday). Enjoy Segway rides on a course approximately 1km in length.
Segways are electric, self-balancing personal transporters developed in the United States, with over 100,000 units sold worldwide.
Sales began in Japan in 2006, and the Segway quickly gained many fans with its unique fun, such as ease of control through simple body movements, a surprising sense of unity with the machine, and the casual feel of a stroll. However, public road use has not yet been permitted in Japan, limiting places where people can enjoy Segways.
Amidst this, "SEGWAY BASE" opens in the rapidly developing Ebina area, offering more people the chance to experience Segway's robotic technology and providing an unparalleled sense of fun that expands physical sensations – the "Segway Smile."
"SEGWAY BASE" boasts a vast site of approximately 6,200㎡, featuring the world's largest course, stretching about 1km. The course design maximizes the Segway's characteristic intuitive control, extending the feeling of walking. Riders can enjoy an off-road feel on surfaces like wood chips and gravel, while experiencing attractions such as slalom sections and slopes.
