The ultimate in leather interiors! Glamping tools "HIKER" created by a collective of leather artisans and creators will debut this autumn.
While Soka City in Saitama Prefecture is known for "Soka Senbei" rice crackers, it is also a leading hub for leather production in the Kanto region.
The reality is that few people, even residents of Soka City, are aware that for nearly a century, since the 1930s, the area has thrived in the production of leather materials, from raw hides to tanning and dyeing.
Moreover, there are approximately 180 related businesses in the city that handle everything from raw hides to finished products.
Although each is small-scale, they operate as "only-one manufacturers," developing new processing techniques and handling orders from world-renowned brands with their unique technologies.
A distinctive feature is the wide variety of animal materials available, including cow, pig, sheep, goat, reptile, and fur. While equipment and processing methods differ depending on the size and type of animal, Soka handles almost all types of leather. It's possible that your favorite leather item from a certain brand is made through Soka.
Introducing 'HIKER,' an interior brand for both indoor and outdoor enjoyment. Products that journey beyond space and time.
Born from a desire to share Soka's fine leather and craftsmanship with the world, the new interior brand 'HIKER' was created in 2017 through a collaboration between a creative team and industrial designer Hayato Yamazaki.
The lineup includes leather assembly chairs, firewood baskets, mosquito coil cases, and knife and fork sets with retractable metal components.
Embrace the natural, simple, and comfortable leather that develops character over time, perfect for both interior decor and outdoor adventures.

Leather, a natural fiber born from nature, becomes "leather" through human hands and is said to "mature." As you use it, it develops character and improves over time, becoming softer and taking on a color that suits your preference with care. Using leather products that foster affection over time will surely enrich your life.
Consider incorporating these luxurious, carefully crafted leather interiors, perfect for the approaching colder seasons.
About HIKER
The name 'HIKER' is derived from the English dictionary meaning of a hiker or someone on a journey, signifying 'a person who travels through life.' It also serves as a wordplay, referencing Soka Matsubara's designation as a National Place of Scenic Beauty and a historic site on Basho Matsuo's 'Oku no Hosomichi' (The Narrow Road to the Deep North).
We offer captivating products that journey beyond the 'space' of indoors and outdoors, and transcend 'time' from past to future, accompanying people throughout their lives.
