Introducing new additions to the "Sekimagoroku Kinju Stainless Steel" series, known for its ease of care and superior functionality! Available from May 25th: Nakiri, Deba (for left-handed use), and Sashimi (for left-handed use).

Kai Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Koji Endo) has launched three new Japanese knives—the Nakiri, the Deba (for left-handed use), and the Sashimi (for left-handed use)—from its premium "Sekimagoroku Kinju Stainless Steel" series, known for its ease of care and superior functionality. These knives are available nationwide at mass retailers, home centers, and the official Kai online store starting May 25, 2020.

Sekimagoroku, Kai's main knife brand and the number one in household knife market share, embodies Kai's diverse blade-making technologies as a proud "Made in Japan" product. Since its launch, its high-quality items have been well-received by many users.

In contemporary Japanese cuisine, many people now use Japanese knives for specific purposes rather than daily use. Consequently, there's a growing preference for stainless steel, which is easier to handle and rust-resistant compared to high-carbon steel that requires daily maintenance. Furthermore, the overall knife market shows an increasing trend of users opting for high-performance items that last.

The "Sekimagoroku Kinju Stainless Steel" series features Japanese knives made from "Molybdenum Vanadium Steel," a stainless steel boasting hardness comparable to high-carbon steel, offering both exceptional sharpness and durability. To expand their usability for various culinary tasks, the series now includes the Nakiri, Deba (for left-handed use), and Sashimi (for left-handed use).

Drawing on the spirit of swordsmithing inherited from Seki and Kai's long-cultivated expertise in blade craftsmanship, Kai Corporation continues to strive to deliver kitchen items that support culinary scenes in homes across Japan and the world.
