FileMaker 19 is the first new version released under the reborn Claris brand since our company name change last August. It is an open platform for developers to create sophisticated custom apps in a short time. With the launch of the Tokyo region for FileMaker Cloud, Japanese customers can now use FileMaker 19 with confidence via the cloud service.

Brad Freitag, CEO of Claris International Inc. and President of Claris Japan, the U.S. parent company of Claris Japan, made the following statement regarding the announcement of the new FileMaker 19:

■New Connectors Added to Claris Connect:
Claris Japan offers Claris Connect, another flagship product alongside FileMaker 19. Claris Connect is a cloud-based service that enables the integration and linkage of various apps, services, and data. It offers nearly 50 connectors, including widely used enterprise apps such as Twitter, Slack, Dropbox, Box, and Twilio. Recently, connectors for Japanese services, CloudSign from Bengoshi.com Inc. and Chatwork from Chatwork Ltd., have been newly added.

FileMaker Cloud Case Studies and Response to COVID-19

We believe that supporting government agencies, educational institutions, welfare organizations, and especially medical professionals affected by the spread of COVID-19 is of utmost importance. As various organizations implement containment measures for COVID-19, many medical and administrative institutions face resource shortages and require IT-driven operational efficiency. To address this situation, we have been providing support leveraging our expertise since February 2020.

As the first initiative in this effort, we are supporting the development and operation of the ECMOnet: CRISIS (Cross-sectional ICU Information Search System) for COVID-19 countermeasures. This system collects data from over 570 facilities nationwide (with a total of 5,500 ICU beds), primarily from institutions certified by the Japanese Society of Intensive Care Medicine and designated by the Japanese Association for Acute Medicine, onto FileMaker Cloud. It aggregates the number of patients on ventilators, ECMO, and the outcomes of ECMO treatment for severe COVID-19 cases. While CRISIS is a private database, the aggregated CRISIS data is publicly available on the society's website (https://covid19.jsicm.org)) .

In addition, as part of regional initiatives, FileMaker Cloud is in operation at many medical institutions, including the operation of the Sapporo Medical University-led Sapporo Health Center's COVID-19 Patient Acceptance Status Database (COVID-Chaser) in the Sapporo Medical Area, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's Southwest Tokyo Medical Area (Shibuya Ward, Meguro Ward, Setagaya Ward) Novel Coronavirus Infectious Disease Information Sharing System (CoVISE).
