Tiger Corporation celebrates its 100th anniversary with the "Tsuchi-nabe Go-hōbi Daki" JRX Series, its ultimate masterpiece. It maximizes the sweetness and distinctness of each grain of rice.
Tiger Corporation, a global leader in thermal control technology, is launching its ultimate masterpiece and new flagship model, the "Tsuchi-nabe Go-hōbi Daki" JRX Series, on Friday, July 21, 2023, to commemorate its 100th anniversary.
For 100 years since its founding, Tiger Corporation has focused on "thermal control technology," meticulously studying "temperature," the most crucial element in cooking rice. Through this long history, they have arrived at "Go-hōbi Daki." Much of the rice served in high-end restaurants is cooked in clay pots. The intense heat and bubbling action of clay pots create a deep sweetness and distinct, bursting grain texture. This is the ideal rice that Tiger Corporation has pursued throughout its 100-year history.
The newly released JRX Series, a new flagship model, features the "300°C W Layer IH" structure*, a new IH coil design. This achieves an overwhelming, powerful heat of approximately 300°C*, the highest in Tiger's history, overturning conventional notions of rice cookers. Additionally, it newly incorporates features such as "Origin-Specific Cooking" to cook different varieties of Koshihikari rice according to their origin, and the ability to change reservation times remotely via app linkage.
This masterpiece, born from the fusion of accumulated wisdom and cutting-edge technology, is a fitting tribute to Tiger Corporation's 100th anniversary. Beyond 100 years, Tiger Corporation's pursuit of deliciousness continues.

▼ "Heat": Approximately 300°C*, the highest temperature in Tiger's history, unlocks the sweetness of each grain with overwhelming power.
Clay pots, with their excellent heat retention, can heat rice at significantly higher temperatures than metal pots. The new JRX Series flagship model, by combining the heat retention of a clay pot with the newly adopted "300°C W Layer IH" structure, successfully raises the cooking temperature to approximately 300°C, the highest in Tiger's history.
▼ Newly Adopted, Tiger Corporation's First*2 "300°C W Layer IH"
The "300°C W Layer IH" features a two-layer IH coil structure on the bottom. This increases the heating power by approximately 160%*3 compared to the coil surface area of previous flagship models. The first layer of heating coils, which envelops the bottom of the pot, seamlessly transfers heat throughout the entire pot. The two-layer structure also replicates the intense heat and temperature difference of direct flame cooking with a clay pot.
Utilizing the slow heat transfer characteristic of clay pots, it creates vigorous yet gentle thermal convection, leveraging the temperature difference between the top and bottom to maximize the rice's sweetness and cook it rapidly.
Furthermore, thanks to the properties of clay, the far-infrared effect, approximately four times greater than that of metal pots*4, gently heats the rice to its core, enhancing its flavor.

*3 Comparison of the area covered by the work coil between the JRX-T100 and Tiger Corporation's previous model JPL-S100 (2022 model). JRX-T100: 26,207 mm², JPL-S100: 16,695 mm² (based on Tiger Corporation's research).
*4 Comparison of the inner pots of the JRX-T100 and Tiger Corporation's previous model JKT-P100 (2021 model). Comparison of peak far-infrared radiation energy when the inner bottom temperature is 230°C for the clay pot and 110°C for the metal pot (simulating actual cooking temperatures). JRX-T100: 397.6 Wm⁻² μm⁻¹, JKT-P100 (2021 model): 97.7 Wm⁻² μm⁻¹ (based on Tiger Corporation's research).
▼ "Bubbles": Fine, gentle bubbles unique to clay pots cook rice without damaging the surface, resulting in distinct, well-defined grains.
In vigorous convection, the surface of the rice can become damaged, leading to a mushy texture or starch leaching from the damaged surface, reducing the rice's umami. However, "Go-hōbi Daki" cooks rice using the fine, gentle bubbles generated from the clay pot's surface.
By enveloping the rice grains with these clay pot bubbles during cooking, the surface is less likely to be damaged, preserving the rice's firmness and gloss, and further enhancing its distinct grain texture. This allows for the creation of ideal rice, with a lustrous appearance and well-defined grains, similar to that served in high-end restaurants, without compromising the umami, rich flavor, or texture.
▼ Evolving Cooking Modes for the Ultimate Deliciousness
① Expert Cooking for 70 Rice Varieties
Leveraging measurement data used in the world's largest rice competition*, which gathers over 5,700 rice varieties from Japan and abroad, in cooperation with the "Rice Taste Appraisal and Research Association." ③ Origin-Specific Cooking <New Feature>
Even within the same Koshihikari variety, data varies significantly depending on the land, water, and climate where it is grown. "Origin-Specific Cooking" now allows for differentiated cooking of Koshihikari from six regions, from Tohoku to Kyushu and Okinawa, across two brands. This maximizes the ideal sweetness, umami, and grain texture for each specific origin.
④ New Rice Acclaim Cooking <New Feature>* Limited function from around September to the end of January each year.
The fundamental purpose of a rice cooker is to cook delicious rice. Rice characteristics vary greatly with the seasons, and different cooking programs are ideally suited for each. With an updatable IoT rice cooker, it's possible to cook new rice using a program tailored to its specific characteristics. This allows for cooking rice with programs designed for new harvests, adapted to the specific variety.

[Other Features]
The inner pot is made of "Yokkaichi Banko Ware," a traditional craft from Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture, renowned for its clay pottery. It comes with a reassuring 5-year warranty.
The "1-Cup Restaurant Style Cooking" uses a special inner lid to reduce the cooking space, ensuring that even when cooking just one cup, heat is evenly distributed to the rice, resulting in a fragrant and sweet finish. It also features an "O-hitsu" (rice keeper) function that maintains the freshly cooked taste while suppressing odors and yellowing.
Furthermore, there are no compromises on ease of use and cleaning. The "Large White Backlight LCD" with a touch panel provides excellent operability, and there are only two parts to clean: the inner pot and the inner lid.
The stress-free "Magnetic Detachable Inner Lid" snaps securely onto the main unit when released. The inner lid is also dishwasher-safe, emphasizing ease of daily maintenance.
Another notable new feature is the "Emotional Lamp" function, which allows you to see the status of the rice cooker at a glance. The color changes according to the status: red for cooking, orange for keeping warm, and green for reservation. This makes it easy to check the rice cooker's status from a distance. The light emanating from the cooker can also enhance the sense of excitement, like opening a jewelry box, signifying "supreme rice."
