Introducing "GD11 Premium," a Japan-tailored skincare product featuring the latest technology, now available in Japan.

GD11, a serum featuring "human umbilical cord blood stem cell-derived culture solution," first arrived in Japan from Korea in February 2018. Now, through joint development with its Korean manufacturer, it has been adapted for the Japanese market. Introducing "GD11 Premium," refined to better suit Japanese skin, launching Monday, March 11.

<Following the Korean beauty boom, Korean cosmetics continue their upward trend!>
According to the Japan Cosmetic Importers Association, import values for Korean cosmetics in the first half of 2017 (January-September) remained strong, with makeup products increasing by 10.5% year-on-year to 2.68 billion yen, and skincare products rising by 14.6% to 10 billion yen (*1).

Since the Korean beauty boom began in the early 2000s, the popularity of Korean cosmetics in Japan, which continuously adopt the latest technologies, shows no signs of slowing down.

The newly launched "GD11 Premium" is an advanced technology skincare serum, refined to better suit Japanese skin. It is an adaptation of "GD11," the first Korean skincare product to land in Japan, which boasts an impressive sales record of approximately 380,000 units sold in its first year since launching in December 2016.

Japan-tailored high-performance Korean Skincare: Introducing "GD11 Premium"

The latest Korean skincare product, "GD11," was developed by Dr. Kang Kyung-sun, a professor at Seoul National University who researches human umbilical cord blood stem cell-derived culture solution (human umbilical cord blood cell-conditioned media) (*2). This is the only serum in Japan formulated with "human umbilical cord blood stem cell-derived culture solution," pursuing effects on skin firmness through advanced bioscience technology. Users of "GD11" have provided numerous positive reviews, such as "I noticed a change in my skin's texture" and "My skin gained radiance for the first time."

While Japanese and Korean skin types are fundamentally similar, it is said that differences in lifestyle habits and beauty consciousness since youth result in varying cumulative UV exposure. Survey results also indicate that Koreans spend approximately twice as much time on beauty care daily compared to Japanese individuals (*3).

Therefore, "GD11 Premium" has been developed through joint efforts with the Korean manufacturer, adapting the high-performance skincare product "GD11" to be even more suitable for Japanese skin.

By incorporating mulberry bark extract, which helps inhibit melanin and condition the skin, and European primrose extract, known for its antioxidant properties and skin brightening effects, into "GD11," the product has been reborn to work even more effectively on Japanese skin than the original "GD11."

About "Human Umbilical Cord Blood"

For the 10 months an embryo spends in the womb, developing into a baby, the umbilical cord is the sole conduit for oxygen and nutrients. Umbilical cord blood is collected from this cord at the moment the baby is born.
Umbilical cord blood contains fresh stem cells that give rise to new life, and these stem cells contain 89 types of proteins.

What are the effects of "Human Umbilical Cord Blood Stem Cell-Derived Culture Solution"?
The 89 proteins contained in human umbilical cord blood stem cells work synergistically to promote the secretion of collagen and elastin.
This regenerates the skin, resulting in a more elastic complexion.
