"18-MEA" is a lipid layer that covers the outermost part of the cuticle like a "glossy film." It maintains hydrophobicity, protects hair from external stimuli, prevents hair tangling, and adds shine. However, it is said that approximately 90% of "18-MEA" is lost after a single coloring treatment. Losing "18-MEA" accelerates damage progression and causes hair color to fade faster, making it difficult to achieve desired hairstyles. Unfortunately, "18-MEA" cannot regenerate on its own, so hair cannot return to its original state.
Therefore, Qurap has adopted a glossy film wrapping formula that supplements the function of "18-MEA" and repairs hair by filling the gaps in damaged cuticles. This allows for sealing in moisture, much like a second cuticle*1.
