Urban Hotel Aman Tokyo Opens

The opening of Aman Tokyo, Aman's first urban hotel, is just one month away. This marks the first Japanese base for Aman Resorts, known for its luxury resort hotels worldwide. It will have a soft opening on December 22 (Monday) as the brand's 27th hotel, with a grand opening planned for next spring.

Aman's Signature Spaces: A Fusion of Traditional Japanese Design and Modernity

Aman Tokyo occupies six floors, from the 33rd to the 38th, of the newly completed Otemachi Tower, featuring a total of 84 rooms, including suites. It boasts a lobby area called the "Garden Reception," inspired by Japanese gardens, and a comprehensive Aman Spa with an indoor pool for mind and body rejuvenation. The rooms offer panoramic views of Tokyo.

Aman Tokyo, the sixth property designed by architect Kerry Hill, reflects Aman Resorts' commitment to respecting the local environment and preserving traditional culture, a hallmark of the brand. The design maximizes natural light, incorporating Japanese architectural materials such as camphor wood, washi paper, and stone, while integrating cutting-edge technology. The rich textures created by various materials, along with the interplay of light and shadow, craft a beautiful and dynamic space.

A striking feature is the vast space directly above the lobby, enveloped in washi paper. This atrium, measuring 40 meters long, 11 meters wide, and reaching approximately 30 meters in height, is bathed in soft light diffused through shoji-inspired walls, creating distinct atmospheres for day and night.

The 84 guest rooms offer a variety of options, including the "Standard Room," one of the largest in Tokyo at 71 square meters; the "Premier Room" with views of Tokyo Skytree and the Tokyo Bay area; the "Corner Suite" exceeding 141 square meters; and the largest, the "Aman Suite," at 157 square meters. Each room provides a unique Tokyo vista.

The restaurant, "The Cafe by Aman," is located on the ground floor of Otemachi Tower, adjacent to "Otemachi no Mori," an urban forest regeneration project. Guests can enjoy lunch and dinner while taking in the lush urban greenery, visible from both indoor and outdoor seating.
