A new era of luxury stay proposed by Patina Osaka.

Patina Osaka

In March 2025, the hotel "Patina Osaka" will open between the Naniwanomiya Palace ruins and Osaka Castle Park. As the first "Patina Hotels & Resorts" in Japan, it aligns with a new concept called transformative luxury, offering a hotel stay that transcends the boundaries of modern luxury hotels.

Where History, Culture, Sustainability, and Art Intersect

Patina Hotels opened its first property in the Maldives in 2021. Patina Osaka, the first urban Patina and the first in Japan, opens this spring. Patina Hotels are developed based on the concept of "transformative luxury" for creative and sustainable travelers, seamlessly combining elements of work, play, and well-being.
Patina Osaka is located in an area close to the Naniwanomiya Palace ruins and Osaka Castle Park, fostering a sense of unity with the rich history and culture of the land. This hotel is not just a place to stay, but a space where visitors can experience the memories and stories of the location. Reflecting Osaka's characteristic as a "city of water," the hotel's exterior and interior feature natural materials and designs, creating an ambiance befitting the area.
The exterior uses copper and wood to create a beautiful form that harmonizes with nature. The 21-story building boasts a superb location with panoramic views of the Osaka cityscape and surrounding parks. The hotel's design also blends modern elements with historical context, drawing attention as an icon of contemporary architecture.
One of the most distinctive features of Patina Osaka is the exquisite fusion of sustainability and artistry. The hotel is adorned with works by local artists throughout, strongly reflecting the unique culture of the region. Environmental considerations are evident everywhere, with the entire facility operated sustainably. For example, all wood used is from certified sustainable sources, and sustainability is achieved through the implementation of energy-efficient systems.
Sustainability is also a high priority in the cuisine. The restaurant "P72" offers micro-seasonal cuisine using the freshest ingredients of the season. This style goes beyond simply using seasonal ingredients, focusing on the subtle nuances of timing and change within the season. Through these initiatives, guests can enjoy culinary culture while rediscovering environmental consciousness and the appeal of local produce.
The hotel also features a listening room equipped with an acoustic system created by sound pioneer Devon Turnbull. Here, music transcends mere entertainment to become a meditative experience, allowing guests to feel deep relaxation through sound.
There are a total of 221 guest rooms, designed to evoke a sense of Japanese seasonality and harmony with nature. The room interiors are based on deep wood tones, with large windows offering views of the surroundings. Guests can enjoy the ever-changing beauty of Osaka Castle Park and Naniwanomiya Palace Park throughout the seasons, all from the comfort of their rooms.
Urban Suite
All rooms are over 50 square meters, offering a spacious and comfortable environment. The design emphasizes functionality, with high-quality furniture and amenities thoughtfully arranged. Notably, each room is equipped with a yoga mat, reflecting Patina Osaka's concept of prioritizing well-being.
Furthermore, corner rooms on each floor feature spacious balconies, a rarity for urban hotels, allowing guests to enjoy the park views below and the fresh outdoor air.
The "Patina Suite," the largest room type in the hotel, spans 233 square meters and includes a living room, bedroom, kitchen, dining area, a balcony with views of Osaka Castle, and a bathroom with a steam sauna. This suite transcends the concept of mere accommodation, offering a space where guests can relax as if they were at home.
Patina Suite
The living area is equipped with a turntable and a high-fidelity sound system, making it an ideal environment for music lovers. Guests can enjoy a clear and rich musical experience through carefully selected audio equipment. The "Patina Suite" thus offers a space that deeply integrates music and relaxation, providing the ultimate luxury to its guests.

Partnership Established with VERDY

The appeal of Patina Osaka extends beyond sustainability and art to cultural collaborations, notably its partnership with VERDY, a titan of street culture. He is a globally influential creator from Osaka, known for projects like "Girls Don't Cry" and "Wasted Youth."
Furthermore, VERDY's "Henry’s PIZZA" and his collaborations in fashion and music have invigorated Osaka's cultural scene, with their influence strongly reflected in Patina Osaka.
This collaboration merges street culture with transformative luxury, redefining luxury from a new perspective through VERDY's vision. Events and exhibitions held within the hotel are expected to showcase VERDY's unique sensibility, creating an unparalleled hotel experience.
Moreover, Patina Osaka plans to foster collaborations with next-generation creative talent through an artist-in-residence program. This will ensure the hotel continuously incorporates new ideas and perspectives, growing as a dynamic cultural hub.
Regarding this collaboration, VERDY commented, "Being right next to Henry’s PIZZA in my creative base of Osaka, this partnership feels destined. The creative partnership with Patina was very natural. The brand's emphasis on cultural elements like music deeply resonates with my own journey, and I am very excited to build a new cultural presence with Patina in this city that is deeply rooted in my heart."
A stay at Patina Osaka offers guests not just accommodation, but new perspectives and memorable experiences. Reservations are currently being accepted for stays from May 11, 2025, onwards.
