The Beautiful Nature and Activities of the Hida Region
A Forest Tour with Professionals
Last June, we visited the "Tono Area" in southeastern Gifu Prefecture for a trip titled "WELLNESS TOURISM; A Journey to Meet the Forest Gods," and shared a glimpse of the culture and traditions born from and breathing within its forests. This time, our focus is the "Hida Area," which occupies the northern part of the vast Gifu Prefecture. It's a region that, as "Hida Forest Resort Travel," is proposing new travel experiences to enjoy nature. While Shirakawa-go, a World Heritage site, is overwhelmingly famous as a tourist destination, this area is also the heart of Gifu's nature, surrounded by untouched forests spreading at the foot of the Hida Mountains, Mt. Ontake, and the Hakusan mountain range to the west. Over three installments, we will introduce the forests of Shirakawa-go and Hida Takayama, the Tensei Prefectural Natural Park, and the Goshikigahara Forest. Our guides will be "professionals" who know these forests intimately. We invite you to fully savor the natural charms of the Hida Area.
