Vol. 5: The Amazing World of Hawaii's 'Time Share'!

New Ways to Experience Hawaii (Part 2)

The chill in the air has really started to set in, hasn't it? Have you made your year-end plans yet? Hello, it's Reiko.Continuing from last time, this time I'll be reporting on new ways to experience Hawaii (Part 2)! It's the perfect time to escape the cold Japanese winter and spend New Year's in Hawaii, don't you think?

Have You Heard of 'Time Share'?

In Hawaii, I continued to stay at Hilton Grand Vacations' time-share resort, the Grand Waikikian. Because I stayed for an extended period and utilized the time-share resort, I felt very satisfied with the experience, which felt less like a vacation and more like 'living' there. Of course, I didn't become a Hawaiian overnight! Perhaps the appeal of time share lies in this ability to immerse oneself more deeply in the local culture. We even had a blast with a home party!

Oh, and I also went to a nearby park every morning for my workouts. There, I saw other women diligently exercising, just like me. Truly, spending time in Hawaii as if I lived there was so comfortable.

So, I ventured out from the Grand Waikikian to do various things. I savored local cuisine, rented a bike to climb Diamond Head, and even swam with wild dolphins!

First, Indulge in Local Delicacies

My motto is 'When in Rome, do as the Romans do,' so I started by checking out the local food. I'd already eaten my fill of burgers and loco moco, so I hopped on a rented bike and headed to the popular local spot, 'ASAHI GRILL,' along the coast! When I arrived, it was a truly homey diner where locals enjoyed their meals. But these are often the places that turn out to be gems! I was blown away by the Oxtail Soup I ordered! It was a rich, collagen-filled, melt-in-your-mouth soup. I also ordered the Avocado Ahi Poke Bowl. Personally, the soup was the best! I think I'll go every time I visit Hawaii.

To Diamond Head by Rented Bicycle

Hawaii's climate is truly wonderful, making every day feel serene! Wanting to get out and soak up the sun, I headed to a rental bike shop not far from the Grand Waikikian. I aimed for Diamond Head while cycling along the coast! Cycling towards Diamond Head with the brilliant blue ocean beside me was quite the workout. Cycling in workout gear made me feel like a true Hawaiian. Since you can keep your bike at the Grand Waikikian, I highly recommend using a bicycle for transportation during your stay.

When you stay at a hotel, you can't cook in your room, but with time share, you can basically stay in a condominium-style suite for a week every year, allowing you to build memories year after year, which I think is wonderful. I actually made friends in Hawaii and said 'See ya soon!' before parting ways. This was my first time using time share, and I'd love to try it in another city next time!
