Robert Tatin was also an artist who traveled for most of his life. He was born in Laval, a city that was once a major center on the Loire River. Perhaps due to its location, it's hard to pinpoint whether it belongs to Brittany or the Loire Valley, giving it a somewhat indistinct identity. Robert Tatin grew up here until his adolescence before embarking on a long journey. His experiences with circuses and Halley's Comet at the time seem to have influenced his later style. After inevitably becoming a standard-bearer for Art Brut, he evolved into an artist who transcended genres. Upon returning from his travels, he transformed ancient and modern deities from around the world into a garden of paradise, where he spent the rest of his life.

vol.2 Palais Idéal,vol.5 The Garden of Raymond Isidoremay seem similar. However, what fundamentally distinguishes it from the former, which exists solely in imagination, is that Tatin was a true artist. It is a garden called desire, built on the foundations of art and philosophy. Once you find yourself here, you'll want to linger in a favorite corner, counting the passing clouds.
