Six Senses Makes Its Chinese Debut
Since opening its first resort in the Maldives in 1995, Six Senses has actively engaged in environmental and community initiatives. Currently, the brand operates 10 resorts worldwide and 28 spas across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
The new destination chosen by Six Senses is Mount Qingcheng in China's Sichuan Province, a place of breathtaking, ink-wash painting-like scenery. Located at the entrance to the mountainous region connected to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Mount Qingcheng, it is approximately one hour from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and a short distance from Chengdu city, also known as the hometown of pandas.
Accommodation includes 113 rooms, primarily 78-square-meter suites. Beyond the suites, room types vary, featuring two-bedroom villas with courtyards (330 square meters) and two-bedroom villas with courtyards and private pools (330 square meters). All rooms offer free WiFi, and by downloading a dedicated app, guests can control air conditioning, televisions, and lighting via their smartphones.
Dining options are also abundant. The main restaurant, "28 Zodiac," offers traditional Sichuan specialties alongside regional dishes from Guangdong, Jiangsu, and Shandong. "Farm2Fork" serves cuisine made with ingredients freshly harvested from the on-site organic garden. The "Moon Bar" features a specialty Chinese tea salon and a juice bar, allowing guests to savor local flavors.
The spa, surrounded by willows and bamboo groves, is equipped with 10 treatment rooms. In addition to spa treatments, it offers wellness programs, yoga, and Tai Chi activities.
Six Senses Qingcheng Mountain is a contemporary resort nestled in the rich natural landscape of Mount Qingcheng, the birthplace of Taoism. It is a new sanctuary where guests can find solace for mind and body amidst beautiful scenery and nature, while also experiencing Chinese traditions.
