Aman's 29th Resort Opens in the Dominican Republic

Amanera, Aman's first resort to feature a golf course, is situated overlooking the crescent-shaped Playa Grande beach, embraced by a verdant tropical jungle and with views of the Septentrional mountain range in the distance, all perched on a dramatic cliffside.

The Playa Grande Golf Course (7,085 yards), designed by golf legend Robert Trent Jones Sr. and later fully renovated by his son Rees Jones, boasts a challenging course with undulating terrain and greens, and features more holes with ocean views than any other in the Western Hemisphere.

Amanera derives its name from the fusion of "Aman," meaning "peaceful" in Sanskrit, and "era," meaning "water" in the language of the indigenous Taíno people of the Caribbean.

Designed by John Heah of London-based Heah & Co., Amanera sprawls across more than 2,000 acres (8,094 sq km) of land covered in jungle with centuries-old trees and royal palms. Within its meticulously maintained grounds, it stands in harmony with nature, nestled between a private beach and the golf course.

An Aman-Style Adventure Awaits

Perched on a cliff approximately 18 meters high, Amanera comprises dining facilities, a spa, recreational areas, and 25 casitas for accommodation, all designed to blend seamlessly with the environment. The organic design, with its meticulous attention to natural materials, fuses the relaxed Caribbean atmosphere with modern aesthetics.

Spacious terraces, outdoor lounge areas, and living rooms and bedrooms enclosed by floor-to-ceiling windows offer unobstructed ocean views. Some units also feature a 10-meter private pool.

The two-bedroom Bay View Casa, built on a cliff overlooking the sea and maximizing Amanera's location, offers a magnificent panorama of the vast ocean and Playa Grande beach. It also features an expansive terrace with a 20-meter infinity pool.

Relax in a Serene Sanctuary

The Aman Spa, one of the key attractions of an Aman stay, is designed with the concept of a "serene sanctuary." The treatment menu includes massages, facials, scrubs, and wraps, as well as "Signature Spa Journeys" tailored to each guest.

Treatments incorporate natural Aman original spa products and traditional therapies based on shamanic healing. In the treatment rooms (for one to two people), holistic wellness is guided through both relaxation (stillness) and movement.
