Two Compilations Released: 'Bethlehem Night Jazz' and 'Tatsuo Sunaga Presents Revisit'
Bethlehem, a legendary label that released a multitude of jazz masterpieces from the 1950s to the 1960s. Two compilation CDs, curated by DJ Tatsuo Sunaga from Bethlehem's extensive catalog, have now been released. These are 'Bethlehem Night Jazz,' themed around 'adult jazz,' and 'Tatsuo Sunaga Presents Revisit,' which can be considered an introductory collection.

Tracks Sequenced Like a Dramatic Club Set
Named after the birthplace of Jesus Christ, Bethlehem was a New York jazz label that, despite its short operational period from 1953 to 1961, produced a wealth of masterpieces. From this treasure trove of jazz classics, which supported the golden age of modern jazz and continues to be spoken of as legendary, DJ Tatsuo Sunaga has curated two meticulously selected CDs.
'Bethlehem Night Jazz' is the latest installment in Sunaga's lifelong project and popular series, 'Night Jazz.' The selection criteria for this collection focused on old-school jazz, with an emphasis on the 'bluesy' aspect.
'Tatsuo Sunaga Presents Revisit,' on the other hand, highlights the entertainment facets of Bethlehem and was curated to appeal to a broad audience, serving as an ideal introduction. The lineup features vibrant and humorous tracks that hold their own alongside contemporary dance music.
Both CDs are sequenced by Sunaga with the intention of listeners hearing them with 'ears that have experienced dance music,' creating a dramatic flow akin to listening in a club, thereby bringing out a fresh resonance. These Bethlehem works, reinterpreted by Sunaga, captivate us with their timeless brilliance, even after half a century.
