Shuya Okino is a multifaceted artist, known as a DJ, producer, member of the unit "KYOTO JAZZ MASSIVE" with his brother Yoshihiro Okino, a musician, and even an illustrator.Shuya OkinoHis 2011 album "DESTINY," a considerable hit, has been re-recorded and rearranged by Kenichi Ikeda, also known as ROOT SOUL. The new album, "DESTINY replayed by ROOT SOUL," is set for release on Wednesday, January 29th.

With a theme of "Jazz Meets Boogie," Okino's "DESTINY" featured a half-and-half mix of classic covers and original tracks. It caused a sensation, reaching number 1 on the iTunes Dance Album chart and number 3 overall. In this album, where Okino, typically the producer, was "reverse-produced" by Ikeda, the crossover jazz sound was reimagined.



Ikeda, a bassist who also works as a composer and arranger, debuted in 2009 with the album "ROOT SOUL." He has been active as a bassist and programmer on works by KYOTO JAZZ MASSIVE and DJ KAWASAKI, and his skills in mixing and production are highly regarded both domestically and internationally.

Ikeda took charge of arranging all tracks for this new release. Notably, he not only arranged but also performed and recorded most of the instruments himself, aside from vocals, drums, and horns. Furthermore, he handled the recording and even the track-down as an engineer, resulting in an album reborn with a completely different feel.
