Legrand's Mature Jazz

The roots of Michel Legrand, who has achieved immortal success with numerous film scores, actually lie in jazz. In the early 1950s, providing a piece for Dizzy Gillespie, who was visiting Paris, led to his full-fledged activities as a professional artist. In his 1958 album “Legrand Jazz,” he collaborated with artists such as Miles Davis and Bill Evans.

More than half a century has passed since then, and his jazz has gained even greater depth. While anticipating performances of his representative film scores, we hope you will enjoy “Legrand Jazz 2013” as presented by the maestro.
