Conguero Tres Hoofers' Second Album

『Selected Future is Love』 Released

Conguero Tres Hoofers (Conguero Tres Hoofers) is a band project by Yukihiro Atsumi (Gt.), who is active in composing and producing music for TV shows and commercials; SARO (Tap), who gained attention for his appearance in director Takeshi Kitano's film 'Zatoichi'; and Hidero Nishioka (Per.), who has supported legendary musicians like Crazy Ken Band and Akiko Wada. Two years after their first album, their second album, 『Selected Future is Love』, was released on Wednesday, September 25th.

Japanese Jazz Born from Organic Sessions

In 2010, their physical live performances using simple instruments and their bodies garnered attention, leading to an exceptional appearance at major music festivals like Fuji Rock Festival before the album's release. In 2011, they released their first album, 『Classics from THe parallel world.』, which topped the jazz chart on the iTunes Music Store.

Alongside their live performances and recordings, they began visiting nursery schools and other institutions to introduce jazz to children. Currently, they are expanding their activities further, including leading an annual curriculum on the theme of "Improvisational Expression" at an elementary school in Mitaka.

Their musical style was featured this year on "Tokyo Jazzed Out," the Japanese segment of the French TV program "Jazzed Out," which introduces the global jazz scene via the internet. Footage of their performances alongside artists like Indigo Jam Unit and Chihiro Yamanaka was broadcast in 46 countries, primarily in Europe, generating significant international acclaim.
For this album, guitarist Yukihiro Atsumi moved his residence to a 130-year-old traditional Japanese house in Kyoto and boldly recorded in the earthen floor area. Furthermore, they filmed the music video at Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Kifune Shrine in Kyoto.

The extreme groove, the silence that accentuates each note – it all seems to teach us the "aesthetics of space." This is truly an epoch-making work that opens a new horizon for Japanese music.
