A Special Project from Japan!
Album Production After 12 Years, Briefly Mentioned Here BeforeThe information has now been officially released, so I would like to reintroduce it to everyone.
Blue Note Records, the venerable jazz label founded in 1939 by German Alfred LionTo commemorate its 75th anniversary next year, HEX, which we are introducing today, has been meticulously prepared behind the scenes since late last year to launch a special project from Japan.
This project aims to transmit current jazz from Tokyo to the world. For this, I have gathered four exceptional musicians: Ken Sano, a next-generation songwriter/keyboardist I've been interested in; Midorin, the drummer from SOIL&“PIMP”SESSIONS; and the pianist Hiroshi Ito, who handles jazz, Latin, and film music, along with bassist Katsuhiro Koizumi P, who commands immense trust from fellow musicians.
We are currently in the process of recording for the album release on November 20th (Wednesday).

HEX is an abbreviation for hexagon, and it also means "to cast a spell on someone (or something)." We chose this name to represent the "creative force" comprised of six elements: the four musicians, myself as producer, and the vocalist, photographer, and visual artist involved in this project.
The sound is eclectic, blending jazz, rock, and techno. We are all working together daily to create an experimental and innovative work. It's a shame we don't have any tracks ready to share yet, but "TOKYO MOON" has been introducing songs that connect to this project, so if you're curious, pleaseread the back numbers of this seriesto find out more.
We will continue to provide updates on the project's progress in this series. Please look forward to it.

Robert Glasper x Mos Def!
Robert Glasper, an artist who just won a Grammy Award this Februarywill soon be performing in Japan, including at Blue Note Tokyo in Aoyama. The lineup includes members of the Robert Glasper Experiment—Derrick Hodge, Casey Benjamin on saxophone and vocoder, and drummer Mark Colenburg—who recently released an album on Blue Note, joined by his close friend MC Yasiin Bey, also known as Mos Def (Mos Def will only be participating in the Tokyo performance).
What will happen during their first collaboration in Japan? I'm sure I'm not the only fan of both artists who is looking forward to it. Don't miss this opportunity.
