This week, we feature "Love And Live," a funky, high-energy club jazz tune from the 4-track EP previewing Shuya Okino's latest album by Kyoto Jazz Massive, which had already generated buzz domestically and internationally before its release. This track follows "Still In Love," which was also featured on this program last summer. We broadcast it along with a message from Mr. Okino himself. Additionally, we play a track from the unreleased mini-album by London-based emerging drummer Richard Spaven, who has collaborated with jazz musicians like Jose James and Robert Mitchell, as well as club artists like 4 Hero and Flying Lotus. His track offers an unconventional funk beat with a dreamlike atmosphere. We also included a selection of club classics that perfectly complement these two songs.

Featured Exhibitions!

In our topics segment, we highlighted two exhibitions opening concurrently in Roppongi. The first is the "Shiro Kuramata and Ettore Sottsass" exhibition at 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT. This exhibition focuses on the works of two late, great artists: Ettore Sottsass, the Italian architect and industrial designer known for his vibrant red modern designs, including Olivetti typewriters; and Shiro Kuramata, a leading Japanese interior and product designer who participated in the "Memphis" movement, a revolutionary design movement that dominated the 1980s, and gained attention for his bold concept of creating chairs from steel mesh.

We also introduced the "Surrealism" exhibition at The National Art Center, Tokyo. This exhibition, featuring carefully selected works and valuable documents from the collection of France's Centre Pompidou, explores Surrealism—a major 20th-century artistic movement that began in the 1920s, encompassing literature, painting, and photography, and continues to profoundly influence our culture today. It includes works by iconic artists such as Salvador Dalí, Joan Miró, René Magritte, and Marcel Duchamp. As the cold days continue, why not venture out to experience these new and classic creations that will surely stimulate your intellectual curiosity?
