Text by YANAKA Tomomi

A Living Witness to the Dazzling Jazz Scene of the Late 20th Century

Bob Dorough captivates a wide range of music fans with his stylish piano playing and his conversational singing style. He is, in essence, a living witness to the American jazz scene, having participated in Miles Davis's masterpiece "Sorcerer" (1967).

Furthermore, Dorough was involved in the American national children's program "Schoolhouse Rock" from the 1970s to the 1980s. He became immensely popular with the song "Three Is a Magic Number," which sings the multiplication table for three and has been covered by many artists. Now, this "legendary talent," who continues to be revered by numerous younger artists and jazz fans such as Mose Allison, Diana Krall, and Jamie Cullum, is finally making his debut in Japan.
