"kizunaworld.org (Kizuna World Dot Org)" is a support project for the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, launched by Ryuichi Sakamoto and others, which solicits donations through works by various artists from Japan and abroad. The 29th work is a collaborative piece titled "Time," featuring music by British musician and composer Simon Fisher Turner and visuals by Shiro Takatani, who handles the overall visual direction for the artist group "Dumb Type."

"kizunaworld.org" was initiated by Ryuichi Sakamoto and Tomoyasu Hirano. Under the concept of "doing everything one can as an individual," the project widely collects and offers works by artists who support it from Japan and abroad, soliciting donations. Even two years after the Great East Japan Earthquake, it continues to provide ongoing support by connecting individual sentiments.

The 29th work is titled "Time." Simon Fisher Turner, who created the music, and Shiro Takatani, who was in charge of the visuals, have provided comments.

It could be said that the music itself created this work.
Just as that terrible disaster was a calamity.
The tsunami, and the consequences brought about by nature and humanity, shook my soul,

along with fear on every level, both within and without my body and mind.
This work, "Time," was music that spun music, in its simplest form.
Considering the emotions of those who felt fear on every level,
it was difficult to find sounds, or music, that would help.
Perhaps time will eventually bring some healing.
We are small beings on this planet.
We must look carefully around us.
We must respect each other and nature.
Homo sapiens are still a young species.
May the Earth be at peace.
Simon Fisher Turner

When I first heard Simon's sounds, I felt as if they were chimes heralding a new phase.
Ahead lies not simply a bright, developing future, but a sense of a beautiful relationship beginning.
To recover from the great damage caused by 3.11, we need new ways of thinking.
And perhaps, first and foremost, we are being asked about the nature of a mature society.
I hope that by participating in kizunaworld, I can be involved in the transition to the next phase in some way.
Shiro Takatani

The work is structured so that users can download it by making a donation of their choice, from ¥1,000 per unit to ¥20,000 for 20 units, processed via PayPal. The entire amount of donations collected (excluding payment processing fees) is equally distributed to five representative organizations in the fields of "medical care," "children," "food," "housing," and "energy" as "support needed now" in the affected areas, with donations made quarterly.

Recipients of donations:
International NGO Doctors of the World | Medical activities centered on mental healthcare and procurement of pharmaceuticals in Otsuchi Town, Iwate Prefecture

Children's Music Revival Fund | Repair and provision of musical instruments and support for music activities in educational institutions
Sunrise Genki Village Project | Support for delivering rice to the elderly living in temporary housing

Voluntary Architects Network Shigeru Ban / Great East Japan Earthquake Tsunami Support Project | Support through the installation of simple partition systems for evacuation shelters

Institute for Energy Economics and Policy, Connection and Warmth Project | Support for affected areas through solar, solar thermal, biomass, etc.
