Melanchosmic Sounds: Scorching Guitar Lines and Synthesizers
Tame Impala captivates the world with their straight-ahead, late-1960s psychedelic rock sound. While presented as a band, it's no exaggeration to say it's essentially a solo project by vocalist and guitarist Kevin Parker, who handles nearly all parts in the recording process. The other four members belong to different bands and convene only for recording and live performances, creating a unique structure.
They quickly gained attention with the release of their self-titled record 'Tame Impala' in 2008. After touring with The Shins and MGMT, they made a highly anticipated visit to Japan for Summer Sonic in 2009, even before their album release, thrilling Japanese fans. In 2010, they released their long-awaited debut album 'Innerspeaker', receiving high praise from media outlets globally and appearing on numerous year-end best-of lists. Its unforgettable sound, unique and surprising melodies, youthful energy, and romantic songwriting generated significant buzz.
For the new album 'Lonerism', frontman Kevin Parker took on production duties. This is a leap forward, with scorching guitar lines, drums, free-flowing bass, and Parker's vocals, complemented by synthesizers that showcase a noticeable evolution from the previous work, offering a 'melanchosmic' sound that can be enjoyed on almost every track.
