To commemorate her 15th anniversary, jazz singer akiko has released the complete concept album "Elemental Harmony." The album incorporates the principles of "Ayurveda," a subject akiko herself continues to study.

Songs Classified into Five Elements
Jazz singer akiko celebrates her 15th anniversary with the release of a commemorative complete concept album.
The theme of this album, titled "Elemental Harmony," is reportedly "the advocacy of a new music therapy." akiko herself, who has been studying "Ayurveda"—the ancient Indian science of life—for several years, incorporated its principles into the album's creation.
Ayurveda, one of the world's three major medical systems, combines the Sanskrit words "ayus" (life) and "veda" (science) to mean "the science of life." It is officially recognized by the WHO as a lifestyle health practice. In Japan, Ayurveda-based salons and dietary approaches have gained attention in recent years, alongside yoga.
Within the fundamental concepts of Ayurveda lies the idea of the five great elements. This is the belief that all things in the universe are composed of five components: "earth, water, fire, wind, and space." "Elemental Harmony" classifies all 50 tracks, including 11 previously unreleased songs, into these five elements. The album features a rich collection of fan favorites, spanning from standard jazz to rock, club music, timeless swing, and ballads.
The album's supervision was handled by Machiko Nishikawa, who has developed Ayurvedic constitutional health and beauty methods and unique simple lifestyle improvement programs, and has been involved in numerous health and beauty seminars, consultations, and product developments.
Released in a limited edition of 5,000 copies, the album will be accompanied by a tour in three cities: Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya.
