From Friday, June 26th to Monday, June 29th, "Festival du Film Français 2015" will be held at Yurakucho Asahi Hall in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, featuring a screening of the film "Eden." To commemorate this, DJ Sven Løve, who penned the screenplay for the film, will visit Japan. On the evening of Saturday, June 27th, coinciding with the film's screening at the festival, an event titled "FRENCH TOUCH" will take place at the club "Le Baron de Paris" in Minami-Aoyama.

French House Pioneer Sven Løve Visits Japan

French house music, known as "French Touch," represents the European dance music scene of the late 1990s and early 2000s. Its global recognition surged with the success of Daft Punk. Amidst a scene dominated by numerous artists, DJ Sven Løve stands out as a pivotal figure who was active from the genre's early days.

Furthermore, the genre's profile in Japan is also rising, as seen in the book "Manga de Wakaru House Music no Rekishi / Machines Melody: House Music Loved by Paris" (DU BOOKS), published last year. This manga depicts the vibrant scene fueled by "house kids" who were passionate about house music and energized the French music landscape.

The film "Eden," which chronicles the beginnings of French Touch—a major movement in the music scene—features DJ Sven Løve as its screenwriter. It is a coming-of-age drama that follows the success and setbacks, love and friendships of a DJ living through the French Touch generation.

The film will be screened on Saturday, June 27th, as part of this year's Festival du Film Français at Yurakucho Asahi Hall. That same evening, "Le Baron de Paris" in Minami-Aoyama will host the "FRENCH TOUCH" event, with Sven Løve appearing as a guest DJ.

The venue, "Le Baron de Paris," is a luxurious club with distinct areas for sofa seating and a dance floor. It's recommended for those who want to lose themselves in the rhythms of French house, as well as for those who prefer to savor the music over drinks.
