Jeff Buckley, a genius musician who emerged like a comet in the 1990s and passed away at the age of 30 in 1997. This is a human drama depicting the birth of Jeff as a musician, who was the son of the legendary folk-rock musician Tim Buckley. The film "Greetings from Tim Buckley" will be released sequentially in theaters nationwide, starting October 18 (Saturday) at Human Trust Cinema Shibuya and others.

Starring Penn Badgley, Who Broke Through in "Gossip Girl"
Jeff Buckley, the genius musician who died tragically at the young age of 30 in 1997, is hailed as a "90s legend" alongside Nirvana's Kurt Cobain, and continues to influence many to this day. This moving story, which intertwines his life with that of his father, musician Tim Buckley—who abandoned Jeff and never appeared in his life until his death—and explores the inescapable bonds of blood and kinship, is now arriving in Japan.
The film is directed by Daniel Algrant, known for "The Longest Day in New York" (2002). With a unique background that includes directing several episodes of the popular drama "Sex and the City" and teaching at Harvard and Columbia Universities, Algrant crafts a story of parental love, hate, and reconciliation, set to a soundtrack of numerous famous songs.
Penn Badgley, who gained fame in the TV drama "Gossip Girl" and is also active as a musician, delivers a stunning performance as Jeff. The live scenes were filmed in real-time, with Badgley resonating with Jeff's beautiful singing voice as if possessed. Imogen Poots also gives a dynamic performance as the fated woman who supports Jeff from the shadows.
Jeff is Invited to a Tribute Concert for His Legendary Musician Father
In 1991, 24-year-old Jeff Buckley, then an unknown musician, was in New York. He was invited to a tribute concert for Tim Buckley, a legendary singer-songwriter and his father, whom he barely knew.
Struggling with the presence of his father, who abandoned him as a child and never reappeared until his death, Jeff hesitates to accept the invitation. However, through his interactions with Ally, a female staff member at the concert, he gathers the courage to step onto the stage. To overcome his great father and find his true self.──.
This moving film focuses on the moment Jeff, who took his first step as a legendary musician like his father, created his "song of a journey." The film resonates with the individual lives and sentiments of father and son, which emanate from their voices.
