Glamorous World Brought to Life by Gucci's Archives

Ron Howard, the acclaimed director behind masterpieces such as 'Apollo 13,' 'The Da Vinci Code,' and the Academy Award-winning 'A Beautiful Mind,' now turns his attention to 'Rush.' This thrilling and emotional film, inspired by one of the most dramatic and shocking events in F1 history during its golden era in the 1970s, is an action-packed spectacle.

It portrays the intense rivalry, friendship, accidents, and eventual redemption between two men: the dashing British playboy James Hunt, played by Chris Hemsworth, and his contrasting, stoic, and brilliant rival driver, Niki Lauda, portrayed by Daniel Brühl.—This is a grand human drama based on the true story of two men who lived life in the fast lane.

In this film, touted as one of the year's most anticipated, both James Hunt and his wife Suzy Miller, played by Olivia Wilde, don the wardrobes drawn from Gucci's archives. Although the story is set in the 1970s, all costumes are meticulously selected from Frida Giannini's collections from 2005 onwards.

Frida Giannini commented, "The 70s have always been a period that inspires me greatly. I was delighted and very excited when Director Howard asked me to design the costumes." She added, "There is perhaps no profession more glamorous than a 1970s F1 racer. Chris Hemsworth, dressed in costumes evoking that era, perfectly embodies James Hunt's style, filled with animalistic sex appeal. Furthermore, the style of Suzy Miller, played by Olivia Wilde, is the very essence of Gucci. It's a 70s-inspired look that combines sexiness with an innocent, natural charm."

Giannini and Howard's collaboration, where Gucci's signature sensual and luxurious fashion adds further depth to the narrative, promises a cinematic experience. We eagerly await the release of this moving film, already generating Oscar buzz.

James Hunt (McLaren), a genius racer with intuitive driving skills and a charismatic personality loved by all, and Niki Lauda, a brilliant racer with a meticulous approach to racing and a talent for mechanics, possessing calm judgment (driving forFerrari). These two men, with completely opposite characters and driving styles, were constantly compared and often clashed. In 1976, the year they vied for the top spot, Lauda suffered a severe crash during a race at the Nürburgring, sustaining life-threatening injuries.
