Al Pacino Takes on His First Musician Role

Legendary superstar John Lennon had an untold story. Shortly after the breakup of The Beatles, John wrote a handwritten letter to encourage a new musician he had never met, and it finally reached him decades later.

Based on this true story, the film depicts the protagonist's journey to reclaim his family's love and passion for music, spurred on by John's letter. With exceptional permission granted by the Lennon Estate, the original master recording of John singing is used in the film. The scenes where his voice, imbued with John Lennon's immortal spirit, resonates with the story are a must-see.

The film is directed by Dan Fogelman, highly acclaimed for his screenwriting on "Tangled." The protagonist, Danny, is played by the legendary actor Al Pacino, who delivers a lighthearted performance as a charmingly flawed but lovable rogue. The cast also includes Annette Bening as the manager of the hotel where Danny stays, Bobby Cannavale as Danny's son, and Jennifer Garner as his wife, all delivering powerful performances that create a deeply resonant human drama.

Inspired by John's words, Danny decides to change his life.

Danny, whose peak as a star has passed and who hasn't written a new song in years, feels an emptiness. Then, a letter arrives from his idol, John Lennon. It was written 43 years ago to a fledgling Danny, and his manager recently found it. The letter spoke of the importance of holding onto one's love for music, without being swayed by wealth or fame.

Encouraged by John's words, Danny embarks on a journey to meet his son, whom he has never seen. Though initially met with strong rejection, Danny wins over his son's kind-hearted wife and adorable granddaughter, showering them with affection. However, his son, who had begun to open up, falls gravely ill. What path will Danny choose to make amends, both as a father and as a musician?
